III. Certification Statement:
I John Ward III, Manager certify to the best of my knowledge that the addition of
the volume of wastewater to be permitted in this project has been evaluated along the route to the receiving
wastewater treatment facility and that the flow from this project is not anticipated to cause any capacity
related sanitary sewer overflows or overburden any downstream pump station en route to the receiving
treatment plant under normal circumstances, given the implementation of the planned improvements
identified in the planning assessment where applicable. This analysis has been performed in accordance
with local established policies and procedures using the best available data. This certification applies to
those items listed above in Sections I and II plus all attached planning assessment addendums for which I
am the responsible party. Signature of this form certifies that the receiving collection system or treatment
works has adequate capacity to transport and treat the proposed new wastewater.

PROJECT NARRATIVE
Home2 Suites by Hilton
Sewer Main Relocation
Town of Boone, Watauga County, NC
This Fast -Track Sewer Application is for a total of 376 linear feet of new 8-inch PVC
gravity sanitary sewer main to relocate the existing gravity sanitary sewer main for the
development of a new hotel with 105 guest rooms at the corner of East King Street and
Hillside Drive in the Town of Boone. The new gravity sanitary sewer main will connect
to the existing sanitary sewer main via a doghouse manhole on the east side of the new
hotel building, run along the south side of the new building under the new parking lot
and re -connect to the downstream gravity sanitary sewer main via a doghouse manhole
on the west side of the new hotel building. The sewer service for the new hotel building
will connect to the relocated 8-inch gravity sanitary sewer main. The sewage flow
through the existing sanitary sewer main will not be disturbed in the doghouse
manholes until the new 8-inch gravity sanitary sewer main has been tested and
certified. Once the new gravity sanitary sewer main has been certified, the existing
sewage flow will be relocated through the new gravity sanitary sewer main and the
existing gravity sanitary sewer under the new hotel building footprint will be plugged
and abandoned in place.
The volume of wastewater calculated for comes from a total of 105 guest rooms for the
new hotel. The new hotel will generate a total daily wastewater flow of 12,600 gallons
per day, based upon a rate of 120 gallons per day per guest room.
