4. Alternative Analysis Evaluation: Has the facility evaluated all of the non -discharge
options available. Please provide regional perspective for each option evaluated.
Spray Irrigation: Space limited site.
Connection to Regional Sewer System: Fulcher's Point Pride Seafood is located in an
area that is served by a municipal sewer system. However, that system, the Town of
Oriental, is presently under moratorium.
Subsurface: On -site soils conditions and space limited site.
Other disposal options: None
5. Other Special Items: Include the following special condition: "There shall be no
discharge of offal, fish carcasses, crab scraps, or shrimp heads from this facility."
PART IV - EVALUATION AND RECOMMENDATIONS
As in the existing permit for Fulcher's Point Pride Seafood (NC0003174), there is
currently at the facility three major processes occurring - finfish packing and cutting,
crab processing, and shrimp processing which constitute three discharges.
It is recommended that an NPDES Permit be reissued with the condition outlined in
#5 Part III. This issuance should coincide with the basin -wide permitting cycle for
the Neuse River Basin.
