Given the age of the case, I'm going to close it in our database. I agree that Charlotte would have responded in some way, but the documentation was not retained. Thanks again for your help. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to report.spam@nc.gov<mailto:report.spam@nc.gov> Charles, CLTWATER staff searched our records (financial and otherwise), and we could not locate documentation of payments back that far. The CITY has changed financial software since that time, and was likely lost in transition. Please, let us know if there is anything more CLTWATER needs to do. As you stated below, it is highly unlikely CLTWATER did not respond. Case LV-2001-0316 was received by CMUD on 8/24/2001, but our database has no record of payment. Given the age of the case, I can simply close it as "Uncollectable". Given the size of the fine ($7,085.45), it seems unlikely that CMUD didn't respond in some way - either to pay the penalty or ask for remission. Does Charlotte Water have any records for enforcement payments that go back that far? If it can easily be determined that the fine was paid, I'd like our database to show that. If it's too hard to recover, I can close the case. The AGO won't pursue collection of any fine that old. I'd be grateful for any info you might have.
