Cause/Observation: Directions
Mr. Murray,Chief Operating Officer for Skyview Energy, reported a spill
of premium gasoline.
The quantity of the spill is less than 25 gallons. According to Mr.
Murray The spill was contained at a drainage ditch,so it did not reach
surface water.
Mr. Murray said that they used booms and pads to absorb the product
and that most of it was recovered.
The leak occurred from a bulk gas tank that had a secondary
containment dike. The storm drain in the secondary containment
was left open,allowing the gas from the leaking tank to reach the
drainage ditch.
Mr. Murray said they immediately shut off the leaking gas tank when it
was discovered and pumped it empty to stop the leak.
