Dear Permittee:
The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted an inspection of the CJK Farms and K&M Farms on
May 10, 2018. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the
conditions and limitations specified in Animal Operations Permit No. AWS310271. A summary of the findings and
comments noted during the inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report.
The Compliance Inspection was conducted by Division of Water Resources staff from the Wilmington
Regional Office. The following violation(s) were noted during the inspection:
Inspection Area Description of Violation
Waste Collection, Storage & Failure to maintain storage capacity in a lagoon/storage pond greater than or equal to
Treatment that required in Condition V.2 of General Permit No. AWG100000.
Other Issues Failure to report by telephone to the Wilmington Division of Water Resources office within
twenty-four (24) hours. Condition III. (13)(e) Of the Swine Waste System General Permit No.
AWG100000: Failure to maintain storage capacity in a lagoon/storage pond greater than or
equal to that required by Condition V.2 of the Swine Waste System General Permit No.
AWG100000.
Division of Water Resources staff inspected the farm records an found the lagoon levels to be noncompliant on
week of April 8-14, 2018 at eighteen (18) inches, April 15-21, 2018, at seventeen (17) inches, and April 22-28,
2018 at seventeen (17) inches. No notification was received, permittee transferred over to another lagoon.

Remedial actions should have already been taken to correct this problem and prevent further occurrences in tk"�
future. The Division of Water Resources may pursue enforcement action for this and any additional violations of
State law.
To prevent further action, please respond in writing to this office within 30 days upon your receipt of this Notice
of Violation regarding your plans or measures to be taken to address the indicated violations and other identified
issues, if applicable.
