Little Creek WWTP
Reclaimed Water Generation System
Johnston County
On March 9, 2020 Rick Trone of the Raleigh Regional Office conducted a compliance evaluation
inspection of the reclaimed water utilization system located at the Little Creek WWTP. The purpose of
the inspection was to evaluate compliance with the current permit and review the facility for permit
renewal. During the inspection, the cooperation of Mr. James Warren was helpful and appreciated.
This compliance evaluation inspection consisted of the following:
• Review of the permit;
• Review of the owner/facility information;
• Review of ORC logbooks, calibration documentation, Non -discharge Wastewater Monitoring
Reports (NDMR), and;
• On -site inspection of treatment components
The current permit was issued June 4, 2015 and expires on May 31, 2020. Under the current permit, the
Town is permitted to send reclaimed water to Pine Hollow Golf Club (Permit WQ0024223).
All reclaimed water equipment appeared to be well maintained and functioning properly. The chlorination
and transfer equipment appear well maintained. The reclaimed water system flowmeter was last calibrated
in May 2019 by Hach. The turbidimeter was last calibrated in May 2019 by Chadwick.
NDMR reports are received as required. The facility is certified to analyze for several parameters in
house. Environment 1 and Cameron Testing Services analyzes other parameters required on this permit.
NDMR reports are submitted as required and all required parameters are analyzed. No deficiencies were
noted on form NDMR however the facility should ensure the appropriate option is selected on page 2
regarding compliance status. The facility also reports Total Residual Chlorine and Turbidity. No spills in
the system have been recorded.

Overall, the Reclaimed Water Generation System appears to be well maintained and compliant with
permit requirements. No changes have been requested on permit renewal documents at this time. One
industrial user is no longer sending wastewater to the facility (Hospira).

Inspection Summary:
