I recently met with a landowner and his consultant concerning the above referenced site in your
area.They are interested in switching the pretreatment component to use a Puraflo® Peat Fiber
Biofilter for Wastewater Treatment in place of a sand filter system.By recirculating 1/2 of the
treated effluent in our single pass filter we are able to meet or exceed the same TS II standard as a
sand filter. Therefore I would like to propose this as an option.
Additionally,the property owner wishes to construct 3 more homes on properties adjacent to the
above referenced site using the Puraflo®Peat Fiber Biofilter for Wastewater Treatment. He claims
to have exhausted all other options using ground absorption systems at the county level and would
like to apply for a point discharge permit on those properties as well. I would like to meet with you
to discuss and/or give a brief presentation to you and your staff members.
I have enclosed a package of information for your review. Puraflo®provides a very high quality
and natural treatment of domestic wastewater. It has been successfully used in the US. since 1993
and in Europe since 1988. Puraflo® is approved for use in North Carolina under Innovative
Wastewater System Approval NO.IWWS-98-1. We have about 400 systems installed in North
Carolina, all of which are operated and maintained with a system inspection and twice a year.
