This correspondence is a reply to your letter dated January 16 and received by our office
on January 21, 2020. Below you will find our responses to the listed items of concern:
1) Regarding the thermometer located in the effluent composite sampler, Mr.
Bowlin did in fact have the thermometer replaced with a properly calibrated unit.
2) Regarding the monitoring well network present at the facility, we have elected to
permanently abandon all 4 of the monitoring wells in question in accordance with
15A NCAC 02C .0113 (b). We are currently securing the services of a licensed well
contractor to conduct the closure activities. Once the wells are properly
abandoned, we will provide the required documentation detailing the
abandonment process.
