Dear Mr. Burton,
This Office placed your project on hold as of August 23, 2000. If this Office does not hear from you in
writing within two weeks (10 working days), we will assume that you no longer want to pursue this project and
will consider it withdrawn.
Please, remember that for the project you will need to show that wetlands have been avoided to the
maximum extent possible and that the minimal amount of wetlands will be impacted. If you have any

Dear Mr. Burton,
CARTERET COUNTY
This Office has reviewed your application for subdivision located off Highway 24 near Hibbs Road in
Carteret County. I have talked with your consultant, Joey Lawler with Mitchell and Associates, and informed
him that I am considering denial of the project due to the following reasons:
- the project does not show evidence of avoiding or minimizing impacts to wetlands
- the wetlands to be created are not clearly defined in the drawing
If you would consider reviewing the amount of wetland impacts by avoiding/minimizing the wetlands
impacted by placing culverts in the driveways to the lots (to allow the drainageway to continue to function). In
addition to this to minimize fill or lot size so that each lot will be buildable without additional wetland impacts.
For these reasons, I am placing the project on hold until I receive a revised plan and additional
information or until I hear from you. If you have any questions, please feel free to call me at (910) 395-3900.
Sincerely,
anne eenhuis
