Inspection Summary:
*The City of Burlington has a good FOG program. Educational materials are distributed to customers bi-monthly.
*The City of Burlington has a Capital Improvement Plan that includes all items required by the permit.
*The map of the wastewater collection system contained most all of the permit requirements.
*The City of Burlington keeps good records of past sewer spills. An Annual Wastewater Performance Report is filed with the
Division yearly. The report is made available to all of its sewer customers throughout the year.
*All 4 pump stations are checked weekly. All 4 pump stations have SCADA, telemetry, and audible/visual alarms. All
high -priority lines are inspected more than the permit requires.
*The required minimum response time for sewer spills is 30 minutes or less.
*The City of Burlington consistently meets the minimum requirement of 10% cleaning of the gravity sewer lines.
'The Whitsett Lift Station located on Pace Drive just off of 1-40.
*All 4 pump stations have SCADA, telemetry, audible/visual alarms, and back-up generators.
*There is a spare back-up pump for each of the 4 pump stations located in the maintenance shop. The Whitsett Lift Station
was upgraded in November 2019 and appeared to be in excellent condition and well maintained.
