The Jackson County Recreation/Parks Department would like to request a permit
for a shoreline stabilization project at our campground located on Lake Glenville in
Glenville NC. This project includes the removal of an old concrete boat ramp that has
become a hazard and it is no longer in use at the Campground. We propose removing all
concrete from this 110' x 30' area and repairing the area back to your specifications and
Duke Energy. We have met with the local Fish and Wildlife and since they have two
new boat ramps on the lake, they have agreed for this one to be removed. We are very
concerned and would like for this project to move forward quickly as this has became
increasing more and more of a hazard to the public. Enclosed you will find pictures of
the site and a basic sketch of the area. Please contact me as you schedule a site visit as the
park is currently closed for the season and we will have to let you in.

The following is an abbreviated application form for those applying for a 401 Water Quality
Certification to impact FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission) regulated lake shore or
bottom under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Permit GP30. This Application cannot be used
for wetland or stream impacts. Please provide five (5) copies of this application and supporting
information as well as a non-refundable application fee to the Division of Water Quality of $240.00
for impacts to lake bottom of less than 1 acre and $570.00 for impacts to lake bottom of greater or
equal to 1 acre.
