Dear Ms. Lewis:
On February 18, 2020, Gary Hudson of this office performed a Compliance Evaluation Inspection on the
wastewater treatment system at 8095 Deverow Court in Walkertown, NC. Observations indicated that the
subsurface sandfilter was operating properly. The house appears to be rented, and no evidence of a discharge
was observed during the inspection. Please note some of the other activities that must be conducted and
documented, in addition to the laboratory analyses required if the system does begin to discharge:
• Septic tanks shall be inspected at least yearly to determine if solids must be removed, and pumped out
every five years or when the solids level is found to be more than 1/3 of the liquid depth in in any
compartment.
• The tablet chlorinator shall be inspected weekly to ensure there is an adequate supply of tablets for
continuous and adequate operation.
