Dear Ms. Lee:
On February 18, 2020, Gary Hudson of this office performed a Compliance Evaluation of the wastewater
treatment system at 4929 Romara Court, Winston-Salem, NC. Thank you for taking the time to talk to me.
You stated that the system does not discharge. Please note some of the activities that must be conducted
and documented, in addition to the laboratory analyses required if the system does begin to discharge:
• Septic tanks shall be inspected at least yearly to determine if solids must be removed, and pumped out
every five years or when the solids level is found to be more than 1/3 of the liquid depth in in any
compartment.
• The tablet chlorinator shall be inspected weekly to ensure there is an adequate supply of tablets for
continuous and adequate operation.
