Describe the treatment process(es) for the raw water: Water enters the facility the addition of caustic for pH. Then the addition of aluminum sulfate for coagulation. The water then enters the conventional WTP facility (flash mix, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration). Then post chemicals are added which are orthophosphate (Carus 8600), Fluoride, and chlorine. 8. Describe the wastewater and the treatment process(es) for wastewater generated by the facility: The wastewater created by the facility is from backwashing multi-layer filter. The water is sent to a holding lagoon. The water remains in holding lagoon to eliminate chlorine residual to dissipate and allow the solids to settle. Then the water is pumped to sand filter drying beds. The residual solids are captured on the sand filter bed and the water can the discharge to the river. 9. Residual solids are also collected on the sand filters of the drying beds from Sludge g y g the supernatant being pumped from the lagoon.The Residual solids from the drying beds are periodically when needed removed from the drying beds. We allow the solids to dry. Then remove the solids by excavator, and they are hauled to the local landfill. Where they are disposed of. We also periodically as needed remove solids from the lagoon. This is completed either by excavator or by dredge. With the removal of solids from the lagoon there are two disposal methods may be used. Due to the fact of how wet these solids are. We either send them to the landfill or land apply them in accordance to our land application permit. Solids are only handled on an as needed basis.
