Dear Ms.Tyner,
On August 15,2001, 1 conducted a field investigation on the subject property(see attached map). The purpose of this
meeting was to determine the applicability of a stream feature indicated as existing on the subject property on the USDA
Wake County Soil Survey, Sheet 51 to the Neuse River Riparian Buffer Protection Regulations (15A NCAC 213 .0233).
As a result of this meeting it was determined that the stream feature identified as"BellSouth"on the attached USGS topo
map initialed by me on 8/16/01 is a modified natural stream. Therefore, it is the determination of this office that the
Riparian Buffer Protection Rules (15A NCAC 2B .0233) apply to this feature.
This letter only addresses the applicability of 15A NCAC 2B.0233(3)and does not authorize any activity within the
protected buffers. Nor does this letter address any potential jurisdictional waters (including wetlands)that may exist on
