Enclosed you will find the report for the compliance inspection that was conducted on February 21st,
2020. Your treatment and disposal system appear to be operating well; however, this inspection
revealed a couple of issues to address to remain in compliance with conditions of the permit.
• The septic tank needs to be pumped -out. The MRO is requesting that a copy of the receipt be
submitted to our office via email to indicate the septic tank has been emptied.
• The containment plastic Visqueen around the Leach field/Sand filter leaks when wastewater is
being applied to the system. This will need to be repaired to prevent the wastewater from
ponding on the surface.
This permit is scheduled to expire on January 31, 2023. Please submit the permit renewal application
180 days prior to the expiration date.

Inspection Summary:
On February 21, 2020, MRO staff performed a Compliance Inspection under permit WQ0015945 for Beard Residence
Non -Discharge SFR. The following items were reviewed during the site visit:
- The system was observed to be equipped with an irrigation sensor
- MRO viewed the 1,200-gallon septic tank. The septic tank needs to be pumped out. The permittee will email a copy of
the manifest to MRO indicating the tanked has been pumped -out.
- MRO viewed the 1,000-gallon storage tank.
- The spray irrigation field is as described in the permit.
- Calcium Hypochlorite tablets are being used for disinfection.
- There is a flow meter connected to the spray irrigation system and flow records are being maintained by the permittee.
MRO reviewed the flow records as part of the O&M records review. The flow appears to be accurate and complete.
-The Leach/Sand filter needs to be raked to uncover the spray head so it can be evaluated if the heads are properly
functioning.
A copy of the permit was provided to the permittee.
This permit is not scheduled to be renewed until January 31, 2023.

The system is maintained by the permittee.
Comment: There is a public utility connection near the residence. However, public utilities are not being
made available to the permittee. The permit has been informed that should public utilities
become available they are obligated under this permit to connect to the public utility and abandon
the SFR permitted system.

The permittee is going to contact someone to pump out the septic tank. The permittee has agreed to email a
copy of the manifest indicating the septic tank has been pumped for MRO to keep as part of the file.
The permittee has also been asked to record the septic pumping activity within the O&M spreadsheet.

Comment: The MRO observed the leach field operation during the site visit. Snow was covering the leach
field sDraver so not all of the sDravers were able to be observed durina the site visit.

The Visqueen containment has worn with time and when the leach field is in operation, wastewater leaks out
of the containment. MRO has requested that the permittee repair the containment Visqueen.
Comment: MRO also suggested that Visqueen repair date information be included in the O&M spreadsheet.

Comment: The permittee informed MRO staff that two of the spray heads had recently been replaced.
Spray head operation appeared to be working during the site visit.
There is a small surface water UT approx 150 ft. from the application field. MRO staff made
mention of being careful not to allow runoff from the upgradient spray field to enter the UT.
The residence has a WSW. The WSW is uD-aradient and over 500 ft. from the septic system
and irrigation field.
