On February 10, 2020, Joan Schneier of the NC Division of Water Resources (DWR), Water Quality
Regional Operations Section, and Chloe Lloyd and Vivien Zhong of the DWR Non Discharge Permitting
Branch did a start- up inspection on the above wastewater treatment system. Mrs. St. Clair was
available to answer questions but did not attend the inspection. On the date inspected, the system
was compliant.
The system was designed for 480 gallons per day but constructed as 360 gpd, with flow reduction.
The newly constructed system was signed off on January 16, 2019. David Brantley & Sons do twice
yearly maintenance and their last visit was on November S.
All lids were opened for inspection and everything was relatively clean. The UV bulb and dosing tank
high water alarms worked, and the recirc tank high water alarms were presumably on time delay.
Two of four zones were in use and no drip Iine leaks were found. Due to the open canopy, vegetation
control will likely be a future issue.
