The Town of Burnsville received the letter for the sewer line moratorium on February 12th, 2020. The
date that it was issued was October 21", 2019. The Town did not receive any notice of the October 2019
moratorium.
As of October 215t, 2019 letter, the Burnsville Wastewater Plant was running on average of 84.15
percent capacity.
The Burnsville Wastewater Treatment Plant experienced an equipment failure on January 30th, 2020
causing the 300,000 gallon -per -day contact stabilization unit to become inoperable and
unrepairable.
I have been in contact and working with MJ Chen, Ivan Messina, and Mike Dowd with McGill
Associates, the Town's engineering firm, on a short term plan to implement emergency actions
as well as a longterm plan for a complete reconstruction of the Burnsville Wastewater
Treatment Plant.
As of February 10th the Town Council gone under contract with McGill Associates to proceed
with the short term and long term plans and immediate action to the Burnsville Wastewater
Treatment Plant.
Sincerely,
