Inspection Summary:
Reason for Visit: Routine
The purpose of the site visit was to provide compliance assitance (requested by the permittee). The permittee will be
attempting improvements on site to eliminate the need for the permit. A significant portion of the facility is either under
cover (not in contact with stormwater) or does not have stormwater oulfalls (sheet flow or infiltration occurs). The
permittee was advised to request another site visit when modifications on site are implemented to eliminate outfalls or
processes still in contact with stormwater. In the meantime, permittee is required to comply with the NCG210059.
Currently there are three outfalls from the site that would require analytical and qualitative monitoring unless
representative outfall status is agreed upon. Permittee must make a written request for representative outfall status for
the record.
Outfall status:
The outfall on the north corner of the property will be eliminated by filling in the "trench" that has been formed by
stormwater runoff. WiRO agrees that the outfall from the drop inlets in the paved/gravel area located away from the wood
treatment or storage area (south side of property nearest Hwy 133) would only need qualitative monitoring. The outfall
from the pond (SW corner of property) can serve as the outfall for analytical monitoring since the discharge should be
qualitatively and quantitatively representative of the outfall nearest Hwy 133.
The representative outfall status can be requested any time by sending a letter requesting such to DWQ SWPS 127

Comment: The facility can request representative outfall status for the outfalls on the
south side of the property (overlooking the water plant). The outfall that is located
furthest west would be the outfall that would have the analytical monitoring required.
The other outfall on the south side can be given representative status which only
requires qualitative. Please be sure to request the representative outfall status in writing
to the Division (send to the regional office in Wilmington) and the Region will provide a
response.
