Records are good and the SPPP is up to date and has been reviewed recently. This facility no longer operates as a manufacturing facility, it now strictly a warehouse distribution center. It is this inspectors view that this permit can be rescinded at the request of the permittee. The equipment is an oil/water separator that was installed due to the stormwater regulations that prohibit us from washing equipment that would release oil onto tie ground. The oil water separator allows us to wash our fork lifts, front end loader, trucks, vans, etc., indoors and separate the oil and particulates from the water that is put into the sewer system. Prior to the installation of this equipment, the wash water went on the ground outside the plant. The Rutherford County Tax Department requested that we contact you for a determination of tax status as pollution abatement equipment. Mr. Davis felt that the oil/water separator does qualify as pollution abatement equipment since it was installed because of a regulatory requirement. He requested that I contact you since Rutherford County is in yourjurisdiction. If you are in agreement with Mr. Davis that this equipment does qualifiy as pollution abatement equipment, I would like to request tlt<al you call Barbara Hobson of the Rutncrford County Tax Department at (828)287-6l75 to let her know of the tax status of this equipment. Tlus facility closed all manufacturing operations, and all manufacturing equipment Itas been taken off - site. All raw materials that were used to manufacture furniture have been transferred off -site. This facility will not resume manufacturing operations and is currently being used for a warehouse distribution center. Yesterday Mr. Larry Frost of the Asheville Regional Office inspected the facility and agreed that a Stormwater Permit is no longer needed.
