DOC TYPE COMPLETE FILE - HISTORICAL DATE OF RESCISSION ❑ aOOID YYYYMMDD James Washburn S.T. Wooten Corporation P.O. Box 2408 Wilson, North Carolina 27894-2408 Subject Dear Mr. Washburn: Michael F. Easley Governor William G. Ross, Jr., Secretary North Carolina Department of Environment and Natural Resources Alan W. Klimek, P.E., Director Coleen H. Sullins, Deputy Director Division of Water Quality January 20, 2004 FEB 2 0 2004 DWQ-WARO Rescission of NPDES Permit S.T. Wooten Corp. — Greenville and Siler City Permit Numbers NCG 160051 and NCG 160142 Pitt and Chatham Counties It is the understanding of the Division that S.T. Wooten Corporation has removed all material from the Greenville and Siler City sites and no longer lease either property. In accordance with this information, NPDES General Permits NCG160051 and NCG160142 are rescinded, effectively immediately. Please be advised that this permit rescission is based wholly upon the activities which would require general permit coverage at the sites have ceased or been eliminated, Division staff has not visited the sites to obtain independent verification. Operating a treatment facility, discharging wastewater or discharging stormwater to waters of the State without a valid NPDES Permit will subject the responsible party to a civil penalty of up to $25,000 per day. Enforcement action will be certain for persons that have voluntarily relinquished permit coverage when, in fact, continuing permit coverage was necessary. lf, in retrospect, you feel the sites still require permit coverage, you should notify this office immediately. Furthermore, if in the future you wish to again discharge to the State's surface waters, you roust first apply for and receive a new NPDES Permit. If you have questions about this matter, please contact Vanessa Manuel at (919) 733-5083, extension 532. Sincerely, q Alan W. Klimek, P. E.
