They have received their SW Permit from New Hanover County, they have an approved E&SC (by New Hanover County), and are aware that the NCGO10000 construction permit is immediately effective upon approval of the E&SC. The site had begun land disturbing over a month ago and was advised that they need to get this permit ASAP. A notice of violation for operating without a permit was not issued because they were willing to apply in an expedient manner. They are required to begin monitoring for the NCG100000 permit and the NCG010000 permit immediately. The engineer was advised concerning the elements of the NCG100 permit. This site has a large pit dug that takes stormwater from the site. They were attempting to grade the site such that it drains to the large pit. Very sandy soils in this vicinity (421 Corridor). The facility is located just south of Southern Metals Recycling facility on the left side of US421 directly across from Atlantic Scrap. Page:4
