Subject: Storm Water Monitoring Requirements

Smithfield Packaged Meats Corp -Wilson Facility respectfully submits analytical laboratory
results of the following monthly storm water sampling events in accordance with Tier Three
reporting requirements in Permit:
Furthermore, Smithfield will continue to implement additional 'Best Management Practices
(BMP)" in addition to the stated BMPs in the Storm water Pollution Prevention Plan
(SW3P). ' Please be advised that although we were told this sample would be picked up,
when the sample could be taken, that proved not to be the case and the sample sat in ice
for almost 2 days. The ph was out of the 15 minute time period and the fecal sample was
also out of its 8 hour time period. We ran them anyway, since we have had a very hard time
grabbing these samples within the regs and having someone be able to run them'
Please note that storm water samples could not be pulled within the regulations for
the other months.
