I have corrected our database to reflect the more accurate receiving water in NC to be Brasstown Creek (index 1- 42), class WS-IV. I've also corrected the waters on the COCs and noted the discharge flows there via other streams because the path straddles state lines in this case. The revised COCs are attached. I hope this reduces confusion in the future. I'm copying the Asheville Regional Office (along with your original letter, without the original COC attachments) so they can keep this information in their permit files. Department of Environmental Quality RE: Harrison Hayesville — Correction of Certificate of Coverage for NCG020244 and NCG 160032 2062 McDonald Rd. Hayesville, NC 28904 Clay County Ms. Georgoulias, We have discovered a couple technical errors for both the Hayesville Quarry and Hayesville Asphalt Plant's Certificate of Coverage (NCG020244 and NCG 160032). All stormwater outfalls, including asphalt plant and quarry shared outfall 1, discharge into Beech Branch Creek which flows into Georgia approximately 1000ft from our site's outfalls. According to the NC Surface Water Classifications ArcGIS Map, Beech Branch currently does not have a surface water classification. Beech Branch is a very small creek that flows into Crooked Creek in Georgia. Crooked Creek flows into Brasstown Creek (Stream Index 1-42) flowing back into North Carolina and ultimately flowing into the Hiwassee River. Certificate of Coverage No. 160032 states that we discharge to HIWASSEE RIVER (Chatuge Lake below elevation 1928), class B water(s) in the Fiwassee River Basin(s) (Stream Index 1- (1)). Beech Branch does not flow into Lake Chatuge. Certificate of Coverage No. 020244 states that we discharge to Beech Flats Branch, class C;Tr water(s) in the Hiwassee River Basin(s) (Stream Index 1- 5-7-1-1-2). This stream is located approximately 1 I miles east of our location and is labeled on the included ArcGIS Map. I have included the mentioned ArcGIS map, a Google Earth image with our outfall coordinates, and both Certificate of Coverage pages.
