I have noted the two unauthorized impacts as follows: Stream Impact S-2 - 152 If Perennial - Temporary impact - Relocation This is the 152 If of stream on the upstream side of the culvert where flow was unintentionally directed into the conveyance channel when it was constructed. The new location of the stream now has sidestream wetlands and has become shaded with woody vegetation. Stream Impact S-3 - 53 If Perennial - Temporary impact - Relocation This is the new 53 If of perennial stream that will be constructed to carry the flow on the downstream side of the culvert back into the original route of the UT Lower Creek rather than continuing on in the conveyance channel. It replaces the section of stream that was lost when flow was unintentionally diverted away. The new section of stream channel will be constructed through uplands. It connects the outfall of the existing culvert that originates with the flow of the springhead of the original perennial segment of stream to its natural original downstream UT into Long Creek thus restoring flow into the stream. Overall, as we observed in the field, the goal is to restore continuous flow from the upstream spring, through the existing perennial stream that found its own way into the conveyance channel, and subsequently through the new section of perennial stream to reconnect with the existing functioning stream leading to Lower Creek. This will allow flow from the sediment and erosion control measures of the quarry to be separated out and directed into the conveyance channel. Only clean groundwater or spring flow will be going into the perennial stream. 1 Please let me know if this information will be sufficient. The Division is unable to approve the 401 application until these impacts are accounted for.
