Donna,
Attached you will find an updated map showing the construction limits for R.108 (Bridge 292 on Mauney Road —
Cabarrus County). The wetland areas are outside of our project construction limits. The USDA NRCS soil map for the
project limits was sent via email to you yesterday (Chewacla series noted in the wetland areas).
Our original ePCN submittal showed a pond, which has since been drained, and is now noted as wetland "WB". The
roadside ditch (WA) did not have wetland indicators at the time the original field work was completed, but has since
developed hydric soil indicators due to episaturation. The area that you recently flagged in the ditchline closer to the
bridge does not exhibit hydric soil indicators.
If you need anything additional from us, please let me know.

Larry,
So, no parts of that area will be impacted by the project and no part of the wetland will be drained by the proposed
roadside ditch?
Also, if I could get the correct soils map.
Regards,
Donna

Donna,
At your request, wetland areas adjacent to the R.108 bridge replacement project (Bridge 292 on SR 2625) have been re -
delineated. I had checked the soils in the area where you hung the single flag and found them to be non-hydric. We
requested Joe Sullivan with KCI in Raleigh to re -delineate the wetland areas and provide an updated map (see
attached). Joe has confirmed that the soils in the area of your flag are non-hydric and the design team has informed us
that the delineated areas are outside of our project impact area and will not be affected.
Please let us know if you need anything further related to Condition 7 in DWR 20191668.

Larry,
I have attached an updated map showing the wetland areas that I found as well as a USACE form for WB.
WA measures 0.004 acre and is the roadside ditch where we found Juncus and hydric soils. I was not finding hydric soils
in the ditch east of that point where Donna's flag was.
The pond was breached by the foresters and has drained into the floodplain. WB measures 0.07 acre and contains the
drained pond as well as the wetland area that has formed from the added water.
Please let me know if there is anything else you need from me to get things moving.
Thanks,
Joe
