The bridge will have 1.5:1 sloping abutments. The roadway typical section through the bridge will be normal crowned at 2% with 10' travel lanes and 3'-11" shoulders, 27"-10" clear width and 30'-0" OTO width. The existing bridge structure will be removed. The existing abutments will be cut off at elevation 540. Overall drainage patterns will be maintained. Existing roadside ditches will be replaced by proposed roadside ditches which will be appropriately lined to prevent erosion. On the end side of the bridge, two traffic bearing grated drop inlets with double frame and grates (2GI) were placed in the shoulder berm gutter to pick up runoff from the bridge. Class -II rip rap abutment protection on both banks of the stream is also proposed to prevent future erosion and stream migration. Deck drains are not required. Riprap dissipator pads are proposed at the ends of the ditches where the ditches outfall into the stream. Impervious dikes will be installed around the existing abutments to prevent the sediment from washing into the stream during the removal of existing structure.
