NARRATIVE SUMMARY
GENERAL INFORMATION:
GENERAL PROGRAM INFORMATION:
The Town of RutherFordton re -activated the Pretreatment Program to accommodate
a request from one of the Town's local business to discharge process wastewater to
the Town's POTW. The process wastewater is categorical and regulated by 40 CFR
464. All of the Pretreatment Program Elements were submitted and approved by the
State on April 15, 2019. A copy of the "Pretreatment Program Info Database" is
attached with no noted corrections.
GENERAL PERMIT INFORMATION:
The POTW issued an Industrial User Permit to Aallied Die Casting with an effective
date of July 8, 2019. The IUP was approved by the State by letter dated July 3,
2019.
SIU INFORMATION:
1. Aallied Die Casting (0003)
SIGNIFICANT NONCOMPLIANCE (SNC) INFORMATION:
No SNC Events
OTHER INFORMATION:
Aallied Die Casting exceeded the daily maximum limit for Phenols due to
malfunction of the Die Release Lubricant Reclaim System. The system was
adjusted and follow-up samples indicated compliance with the Phenol
permit limit. In addition, the daily maximum flow limit was exceeded due to
the elevated discharge of a cooling tower. A Notice of Violation was sent to
Allied Die Casting in accordance with the Enforcement Response Plan.
The POTW completed the required IUP monitoring and annual inspection.
