Dear Mr. Stancil:
On August 23, 2000, I met with you at the subject property which is referenced by the Raleigh
Regional Office as NBRRO-00-232. An evaluation of the stream features were performed to
determine whether the site would require compliance with the Neuse Buffer Rule.
There is one feature represented on the Johnston County Soils and the USGS Coats quad maps
that is questionable as to its origin. It was determined that this unnamed tributary to McCullans
Branch becomes subject to the Neuse Buffer Rule at a point along the wester property line. This
point is delineated and the area subject to the Neuse River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters
Management Strategy; Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative
Code T15A:02B.0233 (NCAC 0233) is shown on the subdivision plat received by this Office on
August 23.
This letter addresses only those issues involving the riparian area. For information relative to th
Wetlands 401/404 issues, please contact that Unit at 9i9-733-1786. Thank you for your
