The Animal Feeding Operations Program of -the Division of Water Resources (Division) has completed a
preliminary review of your application for permit modification regarding the planned innovative waste
management system for Benson Farm. Additional information is required -before we may continue our
review. Please address and submit the following item(s) within 30 (thirty.) days of receipt of this letter:
❑ ODeration & Maintenance Plan — The O&M plan needs to be updated to reflect the routine
operation of the anaerobic digester after its construction. We ask that this O&M plan clearly
outlines the routine sludge management and removal methods to be, put into.practice regarding
the digester. Additionally, please clearly indicate what method(s) of leak detection will be
routinely practiced regarding the digester.
❑ Digester Drawings —The dimensions of the -key way trench differ between callouts 1 & 2 on page
3, callouts 1 & 2 on page 4, and callouts 1, & 2 on -page 6 of the plan details: Please amend the
drawings with the true dimensions to be used.
❑ Site Drawin-gs — It is recommended that either a typical drawing detail or plan specification be
provided for pipe crossings in the event that a waste pipeline crosses or runs in close proximity to
an irrigation line or gas line.

and/or additional documentation shall be signed; dated and -sent to my attention at the address below. The
