Typical Cross Section Description: Bridge : Two 10' lanes, V to the right and 5' to the left paved shoulders Approach: Two 10' lanes, variable paved shoulders Bridge: Two 12' lanes,3.2' to the right and 3.5' to the left shoulders Approach: Two 9.5' lanes, variable shoulders Annual Avg Daily Traffic (veh/hr/day): Design/Future: 580 Year: 2040 Existing: 290 Year: 2016 General Project Narrative: (Description of Minimization of Water Quality Impacts) The existing 25', 1 span bridge over UT to South Fork Mitchell River on SR 1319 is being replaced with a 1 span bridge with a span arrangement of 1 @35' (21" cored slab). The bridge will have vertical abutments. The bridge will be super elevated with a 3% slope right and with 10' travel lanes with 5' to the right and 5' to the left shoulders, 29' 10" clear width and 33' OTO width. The existing bridge structure will be removed. Overall drainage patterns will be maintained. There are roadside ditches that flow towards the bridge on both sides of the project and on the left side of SR 1318. There are proposed ditches on the left side approaching the bridge and proposed ditch reconstruction on the left side of SR 1318. All other existing ditches which will be maintained in the proposed condition. On the right side of SR 1318 immediately past the intersection of SR 1319, a traffic bearing grated drop inlet with double frame and grates (2GI) was placed on the right side of the roadway in the shoulder berm gutter to pick up runoff. Class -II rip rap abutment protection on both banks of the stream is also proposed to prevent future erosion and stream migration. No deck drains are required.
