Dear Agency Representative,
On behalf of Joe Laws of NCDOT Division 11, RK&K is starting the project development, environmental and engineering
studies for the replacement of Bridge No. 28 on Sloans Mill Road over Little Hunting Creek (Project # 17BP.11.R.130).
We would appreciate any information you might have that would be helpful in evaluating potential environmental
impacts of the project including recommendation of alternates to be studied. Your comments will be used in the
preparation of a federally funded Categorical Exclusion, prepared in accordance with the National Environmental Policy

Act. Please respond by February 14 so that your comments can be used in the scoping of this project. A copy of the
vicinity map and an aerial showing the study area are attached. If you have any questions concerning this project,
please contact me at mwiener@rkk.com or at 919-653-7472. Please include the NCDOT Project Number (17BP.11.R.130)
in all correspondence and comments.
