The purpose of this meeting was to determine the applicability of stream features located on the property to the Neuse River Riparian Buffer Protection Regulations (15A NCAC 2B .0233). As a result of this meeting it was determined that the stream and pond features (A-E) indicated on the attached USGS topographic map initialed by me on 8/1/00 are agricultural ditches and an irrigation pond not subject to the 15A NCAC 2B .0233 buffer requirements. Feature "E", the ditch along the northwestern property boundary, may or may not be indicated on either the USGS topo map or USDA Soil Survey. Regardless, the feature is a ditch and not subject to the 15A NCAC 2B .0233 buffer requirements. The USDA Soil Survey for Wayne County does not indicate any streams on the property. This letter only addresses the applicability of 15A NCAC 2B .0233(3) and does not authorize any activity within the protected buffers. Thank you for your attention to this matter and if this office can be of any assistance or if you have additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact me at 733-9726 or Ms. Deborah Sawyer at 252-946-9215.
