KERB r. sx?v? Dear Mr. Gupton:

I have reviewed the information that you have submitted to determine if this timber operation is subject
to the requirements of the 15A NCAC 2B .0259 Tar-Pamlico River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters
Management Strategy: Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Buffers) on the above
° referenced property. The property and date of timber sale are as follows:
Approximately 131 acres recorded in various Deed Books and pages of the Granville County
Registry.
The tract was sold at sealed bid on December 16, 1999
The deed was prepared on December 29, 1999
and executed on December 30, 1999.
Based on the materials provided, the Raleigh Regional Office of the Division of Water Quality believes
that the proposed logging activities are not required to comply with the requirements of the temporary
riparian rule as long as the timber deed listed above remains valid and Forest Practice Guidelines are
followed in conjunction with Best Management Practices.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact me at 919-571-4700.
Sincerely,
Steve Mitchell
