Dear Mr. Ellis:
y On February 8, 2000, I met with you at the subject property to conduct a site visit for the above
referenced project. This project is referenced by the Raleigh Regional Office as NBRRO 00-027.
The features represented on the Nash County Soils and the USGS maps were evaluated to determine
their subjectivity to the Tar Pam Buffer Rule.
As a result, it was determined that there are features depicted on the Soils Map but not on the USGS
y that are subject to buffer protection. Two features are represented: one is not subject and the other
is only subject near the southern edge of the property. The point where this feature changes from
ephemeral (stormwater driven) to intermittent was flagged and from that point downstream, it is
subject to the Tar Pamlico River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters Management Strategy; Protection
and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative Code TI 5A:02B.0233 (NCAC 0259).
These points are approximately located on the map received by this Office on February 11.
