includes tracing the pathway of the storm sewer to the discharge point,if the storm sewer is the only
viable means of discharge.
b) Number of discharge outfalls (ditches, pipes, channels, etc. that convey wastewater from the property):

settling ponds, etc.)
❑ Yes-Please include design specifics(i.e.,design volume,retention time, surface area,etc.) with submittal
package. Existing treatment facilities should be described in detail.
No Stormwater retention pond measuring 67'x 155'x 5'(approx.400,000 gal.)is located on the west side of the facility. This
pond receives stormwater runoff from the entire log yard, cooling tower discharge and some fire fighting and fire prevention
wash water. By detaining the water in this pond, some pollutants settle out and provide for cleaner water being discharged.
A"over and under"inverted weir type device at both inlet and outlet allows for separation of oils and solids from the water.
This pond is periodically manually released into the lower detention basin where further settling can occur, then released
through a riser, which is perforated with stone filter,to the Yadkin River. Absorbent booms and pigs are placed at key
locations throughout the facility to prevent the release of oil and contaminated stormwater
6) Discharge Frequency:
a) The discharge is: 13 Continuous ❑ Intermittent ❑ Seasonal

Weyerhaeuser NR Company has requested approval of the chemical Check Mark 40224. This
product will be discharged into their Outfall 001 and in to the Yadkin River.
Calculations predict the use of this product, at the stated dosage rate, will not cause toxic
impacts to aquatic life in the receiving stream, Yadkin River. Therefore, the use of this product as
an additive to their cooling water system at Weyerhaeuser NR Company is acceptable.
