SUBJECT: Thrasher Mine Moyock
Currituck County !9914 50
Dear Mr. Thrasher:
In regards to your proposed mine, the mine is adjacent to wetlands and the dewatering could cause
impacts to these wetlands. Before you can dewater the new mine area, you must first obtain a
NPDES Permit and you must have a pump and monitoring plan. The pump and monitoring plan must
be submitted and approved from the Division of Water Quality. Please find attached is the Revised
Wetland Draining Policy which may help you in designing a pump and monitoring plan. This plan
must be submitted to this office and must address how you are going to protect the wetlands. If you
should have any questions regarding this please contact Brad Shaver or myself at (252) 946-6481.
Sincerely,
g
Robert Tankard
Environmental Engineer
