Inspection Summary:
A follow-up inspection of the Pender County Deemed Collection System, WQCSD0524, was conducted on January 22,
2020. The purpose of the inspection was to verify that the facility had corrected the deficiencies noted in the report for the
inspection on August 15, 2019. Anthony Colon, Assistant Utilities Director and James Proctor, operator, were present during
the inspection.
Since the August 2019 inspection, the facility has become more organized in maintaining the required documentation. Maps
of the collection system were located. An updated Spill Response Plan has been implemented. Pump station and high
priority line inspection records have been established. There are plans to put FOG educational materials on the County
website, as well as updating the commercial customer list for future mailing distributions.
SCADA is now active at all 5 pump stations. Repairs and improvements to the pump stations have been made or are in the
planning stages. Notification signs were made and are now posted at all stations.
The facility is compliant with the deemed collection system permit WQCSD0524.

The North Carolina Division of Water Resources conducted a follow-up inspection of the Pender County Deemed
Municipal Collection System on 1/22/2020. This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is
operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Collection System Permit No.
WQCSD0524. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed
copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". There were no significant issues or
findings noted during the inspection and therefore, a response to this inspection report is not required.
