The purpose of this inspection was to ensure compliance with the subject NPDES permit. During the inspection, the presence and cooperation of Sidney Bridgers, Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC), Brent Stilley and Jamie Linkous, were helpful and appreciated. The Town of Macclesfield WWTP is located at 77I South Fountain Road in Macclesfield, North Carolina. The facility is a Grade II Biological Water Pollution Control System with an as -built flow of 0.175 MGD that treats domestic wastewater. Through NPDES permit NCO050661, the Town of Macclesfield, hereinafter referred to as the Town, is authorized to discharge the treated wastewater through outfall 001 to receiving waters designated as an unnamed tributary to Briery Branch, a waterbody classified as C Nutrient Sensitive Waters within the Tar -Pamlico River Basin. This NPDES compliance evaluation inspection consisted of the following: • Review of the NPDES permit; • Review of the owner/facility information; • Review of November 2017 — October 2019 monitoring data and compliance history; • On -site inspection of the wastewater treatment units; and • On -site inspection of the discharge outfall. The current NPDES permit is effective from November 1, 2014 until September 30, 2019, and is subject to specific conditions, limits and monitoring requirements. On December 7, 2018, the Division received the Town's permit renewal application for the Town of Macclesfield WWTP. The Division is in the process of renewing this NPDES permit.
