Dear Mr. Vinson:
On December 31, 2019, Duke Energy Progress, LLC received the subject Notice of Violation &
Assessment of Civil Penalty letter dated December 18, 2019. In accordance with the letter,
please accept this response for payment of the penalty regarding the Oil & Grease results for
August 2019.
As provided in our response dated November 13, 2019 (see enclosure), Duke Energy Progress,
LLC and the Shearon Harris Nuclear Plant has responded expeditiously and appropriately to
-.this minor effluent limit exceedance. No additional oil & grease exceedances at the subject
wastewater treatment system (Outfall 005) have occurred since this date. Payment in the
amount of$290.94, made payable to the NC Department of Environmental Quality, is being
forwarded under separate cover to the Wastewater Branch in accordance with instructions, in
the December 18, 2019 letter.
