This permit has not been utilized for years due to historically elevated copper in the residuals and elevated Copper Index at dedicated field sites. The City of Albemarle maintains this permit and dedicated field sites for residuals management options, but currently hauls residuals to the Water and Sewer Authority of Cabarrus County (WSACC) for processing/incineration at their Rocky River WWTF. The MRO would like to thank Mr. Jim Lamp and Mr. Brandon Plyler for their time during the inspection. Questions about the inpection report or your permit may be directed to maria.schutte@ncdenr.gov. Material is hauled to the Rocky River WWTF in Cabarrus County as needed. Currently plant volume is down approx. 35% from recent industrial user reductions. There are only 2 of 4 residuals holding tanks (former clarifiers) with waste material; and, per BU-ORC very little solids. Pathogen and Vector Attraction Yes No NA NE a. Hauled residuals to Cab. Co. (WSACC) for incineration until May 2019. Reduction in industrial flow has challenged the Albemarle WWTP to maintain a stable micro organism population. There is little waste activated sludge and the plant currentiv has two additional. unutilized residuals holdina tanks. Sampling Yes No NA NE Describe sampling: Sampling is not required when the program is inactive. Is sampling adequate? ❑ ❑ 0 ❑ Is sampling representative? ❑ ❑ 0 ❑ Comment: Sampling should be representative and adequate if sampling protocol (O&M plan) is followed. Sampling is not required when the program is inactive. Transport Yes No NA NE Is a copy of the permit in the transport vehicle? ❑ ❑ ❑ Is a copy of the spill control plan in the vehicle? ❑ ❑ ❑ Is the spill control plan satisfactory? ❑ ❑ ❑ Does transport vehicle appear to be maintained? ❑ ❑ ❑ Comment: Hauling is managed in-house when operational.
