Dear Mr. and Ms. Riddle:
The Division of Water Quality (DWQ) has performed a preliminary review of a 401 Water Quality Certification
application submitted for the above referenced project. Additional information will be required in order to
complete the review process.
Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project.
Additional Information Requested:
1. The submitted application appears to contain erroneous information. Please resubmit a revised
application containing information relevant only to your proposed project.
2. Riprap placement will be required as described in the US Army Corps of Engineers General
(Regional) Permit 198200030:
Riprap will be placed at the base of all bulkheads and will extend a maximum of three (3)
feet waterward on a 2:1 slope. All other fill material will be confined landward of
bulkheads.
Please include the impacts of the required riprap in your application.
Please provide your response in writing to the addresses below by December 11, 2009. One (1) copy of the
required information should be provided to the 401 Permitting Unit at:

This letter only addresses the preliminary application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands,
waters or protected buffers. Please be aware that any impacts requested within your application are not
