DANIEL SMITH Director Mr. Jereme Parker General Manager National Fuel Production National Salvage & Service Corp 430 Old Mt. Olive Hwy Dudley, NC 28333 Dear Mr. Parker: NORTH CAROLINA Environmental Quality January 22, 2020 Subject: General Permit No. NCG210000 NSSC - Southport COC No. NCG210479 Brunswick County We are returning your application for a discharge permit received on October 16, 2019. We have determined that coverage under NCG210000 general permit is inappropriate for your facility. With the presence of creosote in the railroad ties that are being processed at the facility, the industrial activities on site fall outside the sampling and housekeeping requirements of an NCG210000. Another permit is necessary to protect the water quality from stromwater run off from your facility. We have determined NSSC - Southport Should apply for coverage under an individual permit within 30 calendar days of the receipt of this letter. Forms needed to apply for an individual stormwater permit can be found here: https://deq.nc.gov/about/divisions/energy-mineral-land-resources/npdes-stormwater- individualhttps://deq..nc.gov/about/divisions/energy-mineral-land-resources/npdes-stormwater- individual If you have any questions concerning this permit, please contact Shane Strickland at telephone number (919) 707-3647 or by email shane.strickland ncdenr.gov.
