DEMLR—Stormwater Program:
As directed by email communication provided by the DEMLR Fayetteville Regional Office,
Schindler Elevator Company is submitting the following requests:
1. Rescission Request Form—This form is being submitted due to the closure of the aluminium
die casting operation in 2017. The management of this operation is now a subset of the
Escalator plant. Limited activities for this location are metal fabrication, powder coat painting
and assembly. The facility employs approximately 6 employees whom all work on one shift.
2. Permit Owner Affiliation Designation Form—This form is being submitted to update the facility
legally responsible ownership. While Richard Pearson does still work at this location, John
Baxter assumed the Managing Director role of the entire Schindler Elevator site(Step and
Escalator) as of 2016. Additional support information has been edited on the NC DEMLR
database record that was supplied by the Fayetteville Regional Office.
3. Request to extend general permit coverage for the Step Plant under the stormwater general
permit NCG030579 associated with the Escalator Plant. Both NCS000309—Step Plant and
NCG030579—Escalator Plant are owned by Schindler Elevator Company. Both locations are
on one parcel of land ownership. Both operations are similar with the Step Plant having more
limited operations. If approved the SWPPPs for both locations will be combined as one
SWPPP including site maps under the name of Schindler Escalator Plant within 30 days of
receipt of authorization. All outfall sampling and visual observations will be conducted'in
accordance to NCG030579 parameters.
4. Stormwater Outfalls—A NPDES Stormwater Permit Outfall Summary form was provided from
the NC DEMLR database for NCG030579. It indicates one Outfall identified as#001 at
35.027220 latitude and-78.334170 longitude. In review of the facility SWPPP for
NCG030579, it indicates that 3 outfalls are current being monitored. There are 2 outfalls
currently being monitored under r 1t is Schindler intention upon approval of
combined coverage to submit a Represen a we Outfall Status Request Form to reduce the
current number of outfalls requiring analytical monitoring. Current outfalls are approximately
located at the following coordinates:
