Plant was upgraded to 5 MGD in 1990, although the average flow for the past year has been 1.9 MGD. Compliance data indicate no violations in the past 2 years. The facility has been passing its toxicity test for the past three years. Instream data indicate D.O.'s < 5 mg/I above and below the discharge (Rocky Mount is upstream). Tarboro is not part of the Tar Pam Basin Association. The facility was already permitted for 5 MGD before the Nutrient Strategy was devised, so no nutrient limits are given at this time. More stringent controls on nutrient inputs may be required after Phase I of the strategy has been completed. More stringent controls on other limits may also be required after completion of the basinwide model for the Tar River Basin.
