No. - 31178 Dean Hunkele January 2, 2020 Senior Environmental Specialist Surface Water Protection ECEIVE NCDENR-DWQ, WiRO i 127 Cardinal Drive Wilmington, NC 28403 f3Y: Re: Hampstead Station Outparcel B Private Pump Station- WQ0039779 Dean, Please find attached a fast track application package for the modification of the Hampstead Station Outparcel B Private Pump Station. This package includes the application fee and two copies of: • Two copies of application form FTA 04-16. • Two copies of the FTSE for the project. • Revised lift station calculations. • The pump curve showing the operating point. • The application fee of $480. Please let the following serve as a brief narrative for the project: The applicant wishes to expand the capacity of the existing station from 5,000 gpd to 11,000 gpd. This is in response to the discovery that the car wash (permitted separately) that is tributary to the station is sending a substantial amount of flow to the station compared to the initial flow of 1500 gpd. It has been discovered through water meter readings that the car wash (Caliber) located on the adjacent outparcel is send on average 6,000 gpd to the station. This increase in flow equates to a pumping rate of 25 gpm for the pumps in the station. The existing pumps already are able to meet this demand. I have included the pump curve and the revised calculations in this package. Randy Hoffer of Pluris is aware of the situation and has been instrumental in determining the revised flow rate. The modified capacity of 13,000 gpd should leave ample room for peak flows and some minor expansion of the facilities on Outparcel B if needed in the future.
