RE: Eaton Corporation —Kings Mountain

Certificate of Coverage No, NCG030229
Dear Mr. Khan:
Eaton
Vehicle Group
P.O Box 1728
744 S Battleground Ave.
Kings Mountain, NC 28086
In response to your e-mail from August 29th, 2019 related to the benchmark value exceedances of
Copper occurred at Outfall 002, Eaton Corporation is submitting this follow up report.
Please see attached excel spread sheet with summarized monitoring data for Outfall 02. Note that
Eaton didn't experience a measurable storm event for the month of July through October.
The response actions have shown a decrease for Copper; however, the facility experienced an
exceedance in Oil and Grease on the December sampling. Eaton initiated the response actions for Oil
and Grease impact on the stormwater and requested the lab to re -run the same sample, since
historically Eaton has not had C&G above the analytical detection limit.
Other response actions included:
• Preventive maintenance and cleanout of heat treat ductwork and fans over the roof. This
activity was previously scheduled and was completed during the facility shut down over the
holidays.
Pleased contact me at 704-937-7411 or katiapalmeida@eaton.com if you have any questions or need
additional information.
Sincere ,
Katia Alme da
