Inspection Summary
Site review in relation to upcoming permit renewal for stormwater and wastewater, upcoming public hearing. Staff from
DEMLR: Brian Lambe and Lauren Garcia; Staff from DWR: Morella Sanchez King, Tom Tharrington, David May, Derek
Denard; Staff from CPI: Frank Hayward, Ginny Grace, Josh Jones, Jeremy Watkins.
The purpose of the visit is to familiarize central office staff of the site conditions of the facility.
The outstanding issue of the National Salvage area on the site needs to be remedied. National Salvage leases property to
chip creosote railroad ties. There is a separate DAQ permit for the chippers. Simalarly, CPI has given a deadline for National
Salvage to obtain thier own permit for industrial activities. Central Office has rejected the application for the timber product
general permit and is requiring submittal for an individual permit due to the creosote.
