Dave and Tim,

Todd Hiatt and myself have been asked to line up a site visit with the two of you, to look at a waste site on HWY 221, C
section, in Ashe county. The site is known as the Poling site, and was recently released/closed out (an agreement made
between the contractor and landowner).

For several months, NCDOT has received concerns from an adjoining landowner about safety issues with the waste
site. In anticipation of the landowner possibly filing a legal suit, we wanted to tour the site with the two of you in case
you noticed any major concerns.

Would you have time in January to visit the site with us? Possibly Jan 13h, 14, or sometime Jan 21-24? If none of those
dates work for both of you, then we can look at some dates later in Jan / early Feb.
