HomeMy WebLinkAbout20200045 Ver 1_Diffuse Flow Statement_20200107The site design calls for pipes under the proposed trail to avoid sheet flow of stormwater across the trail, which can cause maintenance issues, erosion, and may lead to dangerous conditions for cyclists and pedestrians. Pipes outlet to riprap dissipator pads as shown in the site plan, providing non -erosive flow velocities through vegetated swales to Smith Creek, thereby minimizing the possibility for erosion. The vegetated swales (tail ditches, etc.) are necessary due to the grade of the trail to provide positive drainage and avoid backing water up onto the trail and adjacent properties.
